Do i need a change in my life

I just hit the year mark with Clo Bare! Crazy, right? That went by fast, and it also feels like forever ago when I blindly decided to embark on this journey. This last year has been a lot of things. I started this blog the same week that I started going to therapy.

It was that moment in the kitchen one night that I realized I needed a change — and a big one at that. I had no idea where to start or what to do but thank God for Google and Pinterest. I spent hours drinking out of cutesy motivational coffee mugs I found at Marshalls while searching for info, tools, books… the perfect shirt to wear that would obviously make me feel empowered… Inspiring quote pins were pinned, and kick-butt songs were listened to… literally anything that would keep me rolling in the right direction.

My life looks completely different than I ever could have imagined it would now. I completely changed my life in a year. Doing a life audit is crucial for pinpointing where to make adjustments and jumpstarting your new journey. Start by figuring out where you stand in the 8 areas of life — health, finances, personal development, career, relationships, self-care, home life, and free time.

What changes would make the biggest impact in your life for each area? Once you know what changes would make a difference, pick the one that would make the biggest difference and then go all-in on that one area for now. Two things will happen — first, the area that has the biggest impact on your life will start to get better, and second, so will other areas of your life. So focus on the biggest impact area and watch how other areas start to change too.

I strongly believe that mindset is everything. Your mindset is what sets the tone for everything in your life.

Changing your mindset is what will change your life. What we think and believe is what we act upon. If you want your life to change, change your mindset… here are a few tips for doing that:. Change your perspective about anything — from now on anytime anything negative happens, instead of feeling like a victim, ask yourself what you can control or change. I mean in a way that takes back the power we let others have on our lives, our circumstances, and our mental states. You may not be able to control how a stranger treats you, but you can control how you react to it.

Have you ever wondered why it is that two people can go through similar horrible experiences and come out of it with two totally different perspectives? Choose to be happy, choose to keep going, and choose to be more grateful for the things that are already good. They say your life is the average of the five closest friends or biggest influences in your life.

So whatever you spend your time consuming, is what will play out in your life. Find the right resources — find books, podcasts, ted talks, communities, and influencers that do exhibit the kind of life you want.. This right here was the thing that had literally the biggest impact in completely changing my life in a year. So much so that I even put together A Year of Better resource page. One of the other most impactful things I did was to join a Mastermind with other like-minded and goal-oriented women.

Masterminds are a great way to find community, accountability, and help on a more personal level. You can find a mastermind for almost anything these days with a simple Google search.

Want to join a Personal Development mastermind? Self discovery played a huge part in changing my life. Understanding who you are and what you want in life is so important.

Not knowing who I was, really contributed a big part to feeling lost a few years ago. Figure out what you value and what makes you feel good about your life and live by those values. Figure out what truly matters to you in life and live passionately by them. I wish I could say the change was as magical as making a decision that you want it, but the truth is that there is no change where there is no action.

You have to put some work in, take action to make the changes, and change the course of your life. Brick by brick you can pave the road to your future. Give yourself some grace on the way. If you lay down the wrong brick, just readjust and keep going. Celebrate the progress you make.

You absolutely can change your life in a year. And in case no one else tells you today, I believe in your ability to completely change your life in a year. Feeling like you want to do the same? Allison Sue.

What you do in small, almost undetectable moments of your life has the biggest impact. What most people don't realize is that those who take the big payout end up with significantly less money than those who opt for the cent per day.

I've found that the only way for a person to bring positive change to her life is if she makes the ultimate decision to do so. Sometimes people need to hit rock bottom before they realize that the only person responsible for their fulfillment is themselves; that said, many are able to make huge, lasting change in their lives simply by making small tweaks over a long period of time. Fortunately, life is designed to be long, and once we begin to awaken a new sense of connectedness within ourselves there's rarely any turning back.

There never was a moment, and never will be, when we are without the power to alter our destiny. Altering your life in the smallest or grandest way is so simple, but it requires you to do something you likely are already doing all of the time. Over five years ago, I knew in my heart I wanted a different work life, that a greater way of living a life of my dreams could be real for me if I could just take the leap. I was afraid of not having the external security that came with that job of five years. There is a rich and deep aliveness that comes from following your heart, in acting on what you love despite any limitations or fears of the unknown.

From Unhappy to Rediscovery: How My Life Has Changed in a Year

How often do you find yourself wanting to change something in your life? It could be something about your relationships, job, finances, kids, physical health, body, emotions or just about anything. Most of us spend a huge amount of our mental energy thinking and dreaming about what we want to change in and about our lives. It took me years to figure out how to go about changing things in my life that I wanted to change. Not just talking about it, but actually doing it. And before I even do anything, I need to first understand that change is always an inside job. I learned that lesson the hard way many years ago when I had a boss that was impossible to work with. She was often demeaning and a bully and I spent many hours and lots of tears, trying to figure out how to get along with her. You see the lesson I was meant to learn at that time, was how to stand up for myself and love myself enough to let her know that her behaviour was not acceptable, even though she was my boss. Instead of finding the courage to speak with her directly, I decided to get another job and leave her the problem behind.

How I Completely Changed My Life in a Year

A few years ago, I decided to change my life for the better. I thought I would write about the changes I decided to make in case others could benefit from it. There were numerous reasons why I wanted to make these life alterations, but the main ones were:. I knew I was capable of so much more. I wanted to make an effort to exploit my full potential and accomplish more and I was not doing that.

Whether you're fed up with what you're doing now or you want to change something specific about yourself, you can make a decision to change now so that you can enjoy a better, more rewarding life. Sometimes, you just need to take action instead of continuing to pile up dreams without doing anything more about them.

For many years I wanted to make a lot of big changes in my life, but unsurprisingly felt stuck and unsure of how to actually go about making change. I admired and envied certain other individuals for their strengths. It seemed like everyone around me knew their goals, how to balance their commitments and were constantly evolving.

July 12, was the last day of my former life. The life where I was a managing partner and the director of events for a big, swanky, successful nightclub. The life where I was glued to my Blackberry and kept three pairs of high heels under my desk for easy access before meetings. The life where my brain was rife with details like how many mini cupcakes are needed for this celebrity's birthday and what size red carpet is needed for that glitzy premiere. The life I led for the better part of a decade before my current self started poking its fragile little wings out of the cocoon. Yes, I was indeed fragile at this time last year.
